Comment: | Produced by the "Wages Commission", Isisebenzi was a newspaper for workers in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It was published about once a month and dealt with all matters of interest to workers, especially with their struggle for just wages and the right to organise. Isisebenzi No. 1 was produced by students who believed that a workers' newspaper would say more when it was written by workers; contributions in the form of articles, drawings and photographs were thus requested. The avowed philosophy was "to keep workers in touch with developments in other factories, unions and centres." |
